Ihr Aufgabengebiet:- Sie verantworten die gesamte Presse und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit,
- entwickeln die PR-Strategie und setzen sie um,
- pflegen persönliche Beziehungen zu Kernmedien und Medienvertretern,
- führen Pressekonferenzen, Hintergrundgespräche und Journalistenreisen durch
- und binden prominente Unterstützer in die PR-Aktivitäten ein.
- Sie vermitteln die Aufgaben, Inhalte und Ideale von Save the Children anspruchsvolle Zielgruppen.
Das sollten Sie mitbringen:- Sie haben ein kommunikationswissenschaftliches, journalistisches oder vergleichbares Studium absolviert.
- Sie verfügen über mindestens 3 Jahre Berufserfahrung in einer vergleichbaren Position.
- Ihre hervorragende Kommunikationsfähigkeit, strategisches Denken und Teamfähigkeit möchten Sie in angemessener Weise einbringen.
- Sie schätzen die Einbindung in eine internationale Organisation und können in deutscher und englischer Sprache sicher schreiben und kommunizieren.

The Berlin Civil Society Center helps global civil society organisations (CSOs) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their work. By bringing together the sector’s top leaders, facilitating communication and enabling cooperation, the Center aims to achieve concrete results to be implemented in the work of CSOs.
Over the last five years the Center has established itself as the joint platform of the world’s leading CSOs. Events like Vision Works - the global Chairs and CEOs meeting and Global Perspectives, a meeting of the most eminent CEOs, have become fixed dates in the calendars of key leaders in the civil society sector. Organisations like Amnesty International, Caritas, CBM, ChildFund Alliance, Greenpeace, CARE, Oxfam, Plan International, Terre des Hommes, Transparency International and World Vision are supporters and regular participants at the Center’s events.
Furthermore, as the Secretariat of the INGO Accountability Charter, the Center supports a key effort to improve the civil society sector’s accountability. The Charter outlines the sector’s common commitment to excellence, transparency and accountability, and the Center is supporting the Charter in an interesting and crucial phase implementing its Five Year Strategy and developing its reporting process. Internship within the Shared Services and Coordination team
The Center is looking for an intern to support the team for Shared Services and Coordination in different areas of work. As an intern in this team, you will be working alongside the Manager of the INGO Accountability Charter and support the Executive Director’s Personal Assistant and the Finance and Administration Officer. In this way you will be part of the Center’s key operations and have the opportunity to get an insight into all areas of the Center’s work.
Responsibilities:
- Support the manager of the INGO Accountability Charter in the daily administration and development of the Charter, e.g. prepare meetings/workshops for the Board, Panel and Member Organisations, process membership applications, respond to enquiries, etc.
- Support the daily work of the Executive Director, e.g. diary management, preparation of meetings and trips, etc.
- Support the Finance and Administration Officer in daily tasks.
- Administrate the Center’s as well as the INGO Accountability Charter’s website, e.g. up-date the website’s content, write texts, cooperate with service providers, etc.
- Update and expand databases, e.g. of the Center’s partner organisations, the Members of the INGO Accountability Charter, etc.
- Prepare and layout documents about the Center and its activities.
- Conduct internet research on specific organisations, networks, conferences, etc.
Requirements:
- Strong interest in the governance, management and leadership of CSOs.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience and/or interest in website administration and CMS.
- Diligent, reliable and focused way of operating.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluency in English, German is an advantage.
- Writing and editing skills.
- MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Team spirit.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in layout and design is an asset.
Learning Objectives:
- Improved ability to manage key areas of an international NGO.
- Improved understanding of the sector’s main challenges and the means to address these.
- Improved understanding of key management and leadership skills.
- Increased network within the sector.
